For many of you, the ideal way to do that is to serve on a student association board. Serving on SUMANI board is a wonderful way to support a sustainability cause that you care about and it also can be a powerful way to build your own skills and expertise. Individuals who serve on the board have the opportunity to develop and grow as leaders, cultivate new skill sets, and expand their network of peers, professionals, community leaders, and community thought leaders in the sustainability field.
Position Available for the Spring ’19:
Co-Director of Projects:
The Co-Director of Projects works with the project teams on the pro bono projects that student consultants work on throughout the semester and ensures their successful completion. The Co-Director of Projects works directly with clients to find new sustainability-related pro bono consulting projects for the following semesters.
Director of Events and Finance:
The Director of Events is responsible for planning and executing events that will benefit both the project teams and the broader SUMA student community, including inviting and coordinating with external speakers; and also maintains the budget related communications with Earth Institute.
Director of Communications:
The Director of Communications is responsible for communicating with the student community through emails, newsletters, blogs and maintaining SUMA Net Impact’s website.
Director of Marketing:
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for developing marketing material; marketing SUMA Net Impact, its projects, and its events; and also maintains SUMA Net Impact’s online social media presence.
All these positions generally require a commitment of 3-4 hours per week.
